 WHAT IS SKYHIVE?
SkyHive is a drone-in-a-box solution. It's goal is to automate the deployment of Tective's ReFly drone, allowing low cost and fully autonomous collection of sensor data via the cloud. This means it has to be able to safely store, deploy and provide power to the ReFly.

WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE?
With SkyHive, it is possible to deploy up to 5 drones simultaneously, and keep them in air continuously! With our unique battery swapping system, it takes only 1 minute to be back in the air. Furthermore, SkyHive is designed to work with large drones: this means more efficient flights with a higher payload capacity. Therefore, we are able to accommodate many types of sensors and camera systems

ReFly is a quadcopter drone developed by Tective Robotics. It features a compact and lightweight design optimized for flight time. The drone features two flexible payload slots, capable of accommodating a multispectral, thermal or RGB payload.

SMARTBATTERY

 


The Smart Battery is a modular Li-Ion battery pack capable of meeting the high power demands of the ReFly drone. The pack makes use of Li-Ion batteries to achieve an increase in energy density over comparable Lithium polymer batteries.

 

The pack comes with an in-house developed BMS (battery management system) that allows scalable implementation Li-Ion cells (Anywhere from 1 to 8 in series), and offers additional safety features over current battery solutions used in custom drones and robots.

 

The battery housing features spring-loaded sliders that secure it in the drone. Power delivery occurs via spring-loaded contacts, but blade or cable connections are also possible.

Tective is open to collaborate in joint implentation projects of the smart battery!

 

The design of the Smart Battery electronics and battery pack allow for flexible implementation of a desired series/parallel configuration. Furthermore, the peak and continuous power capability can be adapted to requirements of specific usecases.
